I cannot believe that it has been almost three years since my last post. That is ridiculous! What on earth have I been doing??? Too busy to sit and write I guess. I thought I would have so much free time when the kid started preschool but I found myself more busy. It's soooo nice to roam around Target ALONE!! Ya...so that's what I do. Shop. Not really. Sometimes I clean or do laundry....shoot! That's what I was supposed to being now. UGH! I will get to it in a minute. Anyhow, so what's new with me? Not too much. Still being a mommy and a wife. Still holding down the fort. I have embarked on a new adventure however. So about a month and a half ago, I got into essential oils. Young Living Essential Oils to be exact. And I LOVE them. I love them so much, that I became a Young Living distributor!!! So far, so good. I love spreading the oily love with people. I love sharing how the oils have helped me and my family. I am like a sponge...I soak up any bit of information that I can on these little bottles of gold. I have been using my Facebook page to talk about the oils and share what they have done for me. I hope to start using this as well.
For now, this is all I have. Just a quick update and a 'stay tuned'! I will hopefully start writing here at least once a week! I can't wait to share my love for the oils here. Yay!! OK, I have to run, but I will be back!
Thanks for reading!

A Windy Day
The life of a stay-at-home mom and her daughter. Once thought to be a lazy mom, my life is now busy and full of activity. Sure we have lazy days, but I have found ways to keep us busy and keep life exciting.

Early to Bed!
Hello everyone!! The kid has gone down early tonight so I thought I would write. She didn't really get a nap today because we were out and about, so its early to bed tonight! Today we went to my cousin Beck's house to help with wedding favors for Carol's wedding (my other cousin, Becky's sis). It was so nice to see them and the kid had fun with Becky's twin daughters. My kid and her girls are 9 months a part so they played well...for the most part. Mine has a little trouble with sharing sometimes....otherwise all went well. It was so nice seeing the ladies though. I sure do miss when we were kids. We had some good times. Well, at least Carol and I did. I can't say that I was the nicest to Becky. Sorry...you know I love you. Carol and I would kind of gang up on Beck and my bro. That's just what you do to younger siblings I guess. They both know that we love them dearly and couldn't imagine life without them. So, sorry for always being a little b!&@#. Ha ha ah!! Carol and I used to pretend that we had a secret language....we would talk in numbers. Only her and I could understand it though. It would drive our siblings NUTS!! We would be like: "Hey Carol, 54132!!!" HA HAHAHHAHA!!! She would say, "Windy, look at Becky...61854." Hahahahha!! Of course Becky and Cory would cry and tell on us to our dads. Eventually the dads would yell at us and tell us to knock it off. We would laugh. What jerks we were. Eventually we outgrew all that and became the best of friends with our siblings. Gosh...those were the days. Road trips every summer with us four kids (sometimes five if Mike went along) and our dads. Our dads were (are) awesome. They weren't the type of dads that didn't know what to do with their kids. They took us to Vegas, Florida, camping, water parks, beaches, parks, strange hotels in Lake Tahoe with a weirdo hotel manager with a barnacle growing on his four head, Mammoth, festivals, skiing...you name it, we went. They were not afraid to pack up their kids (three of us being girls) and head out on some crazy road trip. They never had a plan. They always just found us a hotel/motel. They would look through the Thomas Guide for places to stop. We ended up in some cool places, seeing some cool stuff. I miss those days. Even though we all have families of our own now, it's nice to get together every now and then to just hang out and talk about the "olden days." I sure love you ladies. The majority of my childhood memories involve you two. No matter how mean Carol and I could be, we always all came together in the end and had a great time. We really need to make an effort to see one another more often. I wish we could do one more road trip with those two guys.
Sorry for getting all nostalgic on you...I just think of how fast time has gone by. I know those days are behind us and now we must create awesome memories for our own kids. That in itself is exciting.
So when I wrote last, I totally forgot to mention that we went to the Discovery Science Center with my bro and his family and my sis Heather. Duh! We had so much fun!!! It was so awesome to see the kid and her cousins together. Her big cousin Tay is 7 years older than her and her little cousin E is 16 months younger. It is so cute to see the kid follow Tay around and E follow the older girls. We all had a really good time. We definitely need to do that kind of stuff more often. Here are some pics from our day:

So that's about it for today. Tomorrow the kid has Tee Ball. It's the cutest thing. She is in a 2/3 year old tee ball class with a local City. Thankfully she is a pretty good listener. She is the only girl too...which I think is kind of cool. Only down side to tee ball is my allergies flare up like a SOB!!! I think I will have to take a Benadryl before we go. Yuck. Here are some pics from tee ball:
Alrighty well that's it for me tonight. Sleep well all and I'll talk to you soon...I still need to post that smoked pork recipe...grrr....

Not So Lazy After All
Well, as you can see, my blog has a new title. According to my brother, I wasn't living up to the title of Lazy Mom. Guess I've been busy. So....now my blog is titled, A Windy Day. Very fitting. I am all over the place...sometimes physically, sometimes mentally. What can I say? I am a mom...and a wife and that can surely make us "mental" sometimes. Love you honey. :)
Today was one of those "Windy" days. I don't know about the rest of you, but when we had a child, our house turned into a toy store! Our house isn't tiny overall, but the downstairs is pretty small. We intended for all of the toys to go upstairs, but that never happen. We spent most of our time downstairs and so did all the toys. We noticed that our living room was slowly being swallowed up by all of this stuff. How does one child have soooo much crap??! And she has only been around for 2 1/2 years! I cannot imagine having another kid...let alone a boy who would have totally different toys. We just don't have room! Anyway, today the kid and I were very busy. We moved her kitchen set upstairs to our loft (or second living room). The doll house also went upstairs. This made the BIGGEST difference! It was almost as if we got our downstairs living room back! And the best part is, the kid wanted to play upstairs with the "new" toys. I say new because they are in a different spot and it was though she just played with it all for the first time. Anyway, so this means I had the downstairs TV to myself as well as some quiet time to organize the rest of her junk! Fantastic!! I am so happy that I finally did this. I have been talking about moving her stuff upstairs for MONTHS, but I have just been too lazy or busy working. Well, no more excuses folks! Next we just need to get the extra room cleared out and turned into an office.... By the time that finally happens, I will probably have another kid and we will need to figure out a place for that. I can't believe we are already outgrowing this place. Oh well. We will make it work. We always do.
The kid has been napping for just over an hour and I have a Grey's Anatomy to watch (remember, I have to watch these shows when she is napping because the husband doesn't allow me to control the remote when he is home). Kidding. He just can't stand my shows. Ha ha! I want to watch my shows alone anyway...so when i cry, he won't say, "Are you really crying?" Sor-ry! I'm a girl! I cry!!
Well everyone, have a great weekend. We are smokin a pork butt (or shoulder or something) this weekend. I am sooo excited for that. Only problem is my house will smell like smoked meat for about a week. Oh well. Could be worse I suppose. When i get a chance, I will post the recipe for our smoked pork. The husband makes a fantastic rub and has a great method for smoking the pig (he got that from a friend).
Talk to you soon!

It's been a while!
Wow...it's been over a month since I have written. And for that I apologize. I'm home, but seem to have no time to do this. I guess it's because I am go, go, go until nap time and bed time. At nap time I tend to surf the web as they say and at bed time I catch up on our TV shows. Any who's, last time I wrote I was getting ready to head to Hawaii with the hubby for his conference. We had a GREAT time! His company sure does things right when it comes to dinner and activities. And so does the Fairmont Orchid on the Big Island. Man what a good time. Awesome food, free drinks, great entertainment, and fun people. After the work part of the trip was over, we stayed on a couple extra days. It was weird because both of us were like what do we do now?? We were on our own with no where to be. We had rented a convertible and took that on a few drives...with the top down of course. One of my favorite things was visiting the Kona Brewing Co. We had some yummy pizza and great tasting beer. It was so nice. Ahhhh, I miss Hawaii...... Anyway, I did well on both flights (thanks to some Xanax) and can't wait to go back one day. Hopefully sooner than later. Here are a couple of pics from our trip...
View from our hotel

Sunset on the way home
We got home from Hawaii late Friday night and then headed off to Palm Desert (Indian Wells actually) Sunday morning...more work stuff for the hubby. That was pretty cool. The kid and I took it easy and hung out by the pool. There was also a water slide that we must have slid down two dozen times. She loved it!
The kid and her colored eggs
Easter morning and new Lalaloopsies!
Finding eggs with Grammy
Last weekend we went down to San Diego for a couple days. We have season passes to Sea World which are about to expire so we figured we better take one more trip. The kid loves Sea World! Her favorite part? Making souvenir pennies!
Daddy helping turn the crank to smash the pennies
I think in the end, she got about six of these coins. She was happy and so was dad's pocket book! :) Her other favorite part of Sea World is touching the Starfish. She loves it! She also enjoys feeding the sea lions but we didn't get to do that this time. We stayed the night in San Diego and headed back to Sea World the next day. The kid loves staying in hotels. We stayed at the Residence Inn in hotel circle which I highly recommend. Full kitchen in the rooms (which we didn't need), heated pool, free full breakfast, free dinner mid-week, and are you ready...free drinks and snacks in the evening! What parent doesn't love a FREE drink! Anyway, the hotel was very nice overall. Wish we could have stayed longer. Here are a couple more pics from our trip.
So this whole stay-at-home mom thing is working out pretty well so far. I really do enjoy being home with my daughter. I miss my friends from work, but thankfully we are still keeping in touch. This has been a very good change for us. I even joined a mom's group! Yep...that's right! It's a great group of local moms who get together with the kids and hang out. So far I have only been to two outings...Chuck E. Cheese and the park. We enjoyed both. The kid loved playing with other little girls at the park. I can't wait to do more...we just need to get our lazy butts up at a decent time so we can get out of the house! We are pretty lazy, I must admit....the blog ain't called Lazy Mom for nothin! We are both homebodies. We enjoy hanging out at home. But as much as we enjoy being home, we enjoy being out. Mixes things up a bit. So hopefully next week we will make it out to the park again. Here's hoping the weather stays nice!
The clouds are rolling in and the wind is starting to blow. There is a storm on the way. Hopefully it will pass quickly. We are going to have white bean and chicken chili for dinner. How fitting for the upcoming rain. Tomorrow the kid has tee-ball so hopefully we won't get rained out. Yes...they have tee ball for 2-year-olds. It's the cutest thing. I think there are 7 kids total. Six boys and my daughter. Out of the seven, I think only four of them listened to what the coach was saying. It was way too cute. The kid can tell you where all the bases are and show you how to hit the ball. She's a natural! :) Ha ha!! We will see how it continues to go. I guess I better get going. I got nothing accomplished while the kid has been asleep. Well, other than writing this blog. I really need to start keeping my promise to update this......... I will certainly put an effort in to making more time.
Just one last thing....I wanna give a shout out to my cousin Carol who is getting married in 17 days......... I LOVE YOU and I am soooo excited for your big day!!!! You have been my closest and dearest friend since I can remember. I can't wait to see you walk down that aisle in just over two weeks. It's finally your turn and I couldn't be any happier for you. You deserve the world because you would give that to any of us ladies who consider you our best friend, sister, cousin, etc. Thank you for being you, Carol.
Talk to you all soon!

New Job!
Hello everyone! It has been a while since I last wrote. Today is a cold, windy, rainy, gloomy day. And to top it all off I have a cold. At least I think it's a cold. I woke up with a stuffy, runny, nose...along with sneezing and watery eyes. BOO! I feel terrible. I was really looking forward to a run on the treadmill too. Maybe I can still make it. Yesterday I ran for almost 20 minutes straight (which was 1.7 miles). That's the longest I have gone without stopping. I was very proud of myself. The best thing about it is, I have motivated my husband to run too. Yay for us and getting in shape. My daughter asked me if I am getting in shape and then asked me if I want a circle. I replied that I would prefer a rectangle. Hopefully she will enjoy exercising...I have always struggled with it.
So, what's new? Well, I am officially unemployed. Yep, I am now a full-time stay at home mom. I know I still "work", I just don't get a paycheck. My last day at work was Thursday. I am sure going to miss everyone there. I had a great 4 1/2 years. I have to say it's been my most favorite job yet. I learned SOOOO much. Things I would have never even thought I would care about. But again, the best part about the place was the people I worked with. I know I have said it many times, but I mean it. I made a few really good friends. So it was a bittersweet day for me. While I am extremely happy to be staying home with the kid, I will miss my job. Kinda. :) I always wanted to be a stay at home mom. I know some of you may think I'm crazy, but it's the truth. There is nothing more important to me than taking care of my kid. Some of my guy friends at work are worried I will gain a ton of weight being home. While I do enjoy my bacon, I promise I won't become an obese housewife. Will I wear sweats daily? Yes. Unless I have to go somewhere of course. Will I shower daily? I can't promise that. Well unless I run, then I promise I will shower. Will I wear make-up? Only if I am going somewhere important. I am really looking forward to being home.
Does anyone else have a child who is obsessed with Lalaloopsy??? OMG! My kid, who is only 2 1/2 mind you, is infatuated with the Lalaloopsy dolls. Here is a pic of her favorite Loopsy.
This doll, Jewel Sparkles, goes EVERYWHERE with her. It's ridiculous. She watches YouTube videos of Lalaloopsy over and over again. She's up to like 15 of these mini's. It's insane. They are all she talks about. I think I am even starting to be obsessed with them. All she wants is the Ferris Wheel...thank God the Easter Bunny is coming in a couple of weeks. Sure hope he brings one..... Then there is the one with "the green eyes". I searched the internet for weeks trying to find this doll that my daughter saw on the commercial. Finally after many Google searches and many YouTube videos...she appeared. Mango Tiki Wiki. She is due out this summer I believe. Thank the Lord!! It's all she talked about. If you see her somewhere, please, please let me know. Man...the things we do for our kids. Sheesh.
So ya, that's the latest. Oh yes... I have two prayer requests: One is for my friend Claudia's daughter Natalie who was diagnosed with Leukemia back in November. She just had a bone marrow transplant (thank God her brother was a match) a couple of weeks and is doing well. Please pray that her tests will show that she is negative for cancer. Here is her blog if you care to follow along: http://natalieupdate.tumblr.com/ She should be going home on Tuesday.
Also, my co-worker's daughter's best friend, Kevy Menges, was in an accident about 6 weeks ago in San Clemente. She has been in a coma ever since with a bad head injury. She is slowly opening her eyes and was just recently transferred from Mission Hospital to a care facility in San Diego. Please pray for this young lady. We all know that God can perform miracles and she needs one. My brother's best friend Mark was in a motorcycle accident 1 1/2 years ago and sustained a massive head injury. He was not expected to recover. He is now back to work at Garden Grove Fire Department and doing well. PRAYER works!!
Here is the link to Kevy's blog:
https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kevynmenges/createorsignin You will need to create a log in to view the blog.
Here I am with Mark 11 months after his accident. Pray for this type of recovery for Kevy!
Well, now it's time to watch my Grey's Anatomy while the kid sleeps and the husband is out and about. I am sick after all...I should be laying down. Since I will have all this free time on my hands (ya right), I will write more often. Next week I will be off to Hawaii. I will for sure write and post pics!! :) Have a great day everyone and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Beautiful Day!
Hello all!! I apologize for not writing lately. Today is such a beautiful day!! I would guess that it's about 70 out. This is why I love California. One day its 45 and raining and two days later its 70 degrees out. LOVE it! Anyway, me, the husband, and the kid went out for a run today. That is one nice thing about having the husband work from home...he can take his lunch break with us. We bought a jogging stroller last weekend so I suppose we should use it. I have been running on the treadmill lately, but its actually been really nice to go outside and run. And the kid has a great time too. When I'm done, we stop at the little playground in our complex so she can play. That is obviously her favorite part. So far its been a good start to our four day weekend.
This week has been rather exciting for me. I put in my resignation at work on Tuesday. Some of you may be saying what the heck??? But others will completely understand why. Ever since I was young, I wanted to be a stay at home mom. Again, some may think I'm nuts. I think that its so very important for a parent to be home with his/her child. This is what I have wanted to do for so long. When my husband and I bought a home in south Orange County, we knew that the dream of me staying home with our kids probably wouldn't happen. We live in California...it's so expensive. Thankfully, we are good with our money...(this is soooooo important!! SAVE, SAVE, SAVE...and avoid debt!) The husband then received a promotion at work back in September and we knew that if all went well for the next couple of months, I could eventually stay home...and here we are! Praise the Lord!!! We have been blessed tremendously in so many ways...this is just one of them. Sooooo my last day at work is March 15th. Then I will start my new job as a full time stay at home mommy. Yay!! As excited as I am, I am a little sad at the same time. I love where I work. I have made some of the bestest (yes, bestest) friends. I work with so many wonderful people whom I will miss greatly. This is why I cannot be the "lazy mom" that I am...I will need to get off my butt and go visit! YES! I will come and interrupt your day and make you laugh. Perhaps we will even go to lunch. .............Man, I'm going to miss my friends.
Well, I guess that's all for now. I just wanted to share my news. I suppose I should do some laundry while the kid is asleep. Am I crazy for feeling like I want to go for another run??? Maybe it's cuz I have to be bikini ready in 5 weeks.... I don't know what it is but it kind of scares me. I am not a person who likes to run. Or do anything physical for that matter. I'll let you know if it keeps up. It would be a positive change. OK. Bye for now. Hopefully I won't take so long to write next time and hopefully it will be more interesting.

I Don't Like Titles
When I was a kid, my mom always worked at YMCA camps as the Director or the Baker during the summers. So I spent a lot of time at these camps. I remember one of my first times at camp... I must have been about 5-6 years old. I remember using the restroom and as I sat on the toilet, I read the following that was scribbled on the bathroom door:
Here I sit, broken hearted. Trying to $h!t, but only farted.
Why I have remembered that for the past 30 years is beyond me. Every now and then, it pops into my head for no particular reason. Today was one of those days....
I had a bit of a super glue accident last night. No, don't worry...I didn't glue my eyes shut or anything. I was trying to fix a wine stopper that broke. Anyway, the tube was plugged up so I kept having to stick a needle in it to unclog it. While I was doing that, some got on my fingers and I damn near glued my fingers together. Jeez...that's a really scary feeling. For that split second my fingers totally stuck together. Could you imagine?! So I kept sticking the needle in, squeezing, needle, squeezing...then SPLAT! A whole bunch of glue squirted out all over the counter and me. I yelled, "Everyone STOP! Give me a paper towel!" It got on my fingers again but i was sure to keep them a part this time. It got on the floor and all over my pants too. BOO! I can still feel the stuff on my fingers. Any idea on how to get it out of my pants?? The lesson to be learned here...just stay away from Super Glue. That stuff is dangerous.
I was introduced to Pinterest yesterday. My sister-in-law was so right. That site is soooooooo addicting. I have spent hours on it already. Super cool though! I have gotten tons of recipes and craft ideas. Loving it. If you are on there and want to follow me, I'm Windizzle8. I had to use the 8 because Windizzle was taken. I should find out who this other Windizzle is.... I was certain I was the only one.
I guess that's about it for now. I have been out of commission the last couple of days. The kid has been sick and so have I. I'm feeling better now, it's just the annoying cough when I'm trying to sleep. All I have done since Monday is...farm (Farmville), Pinterest, play with Play-Doh, color, watch TV, and I vacuumed. Vacuuming was a biggie. The kid is napping now and I told her we could paint when she wakes up. I would also like to get on the treadmill. Hawaii is in 6 weeks. Gotta get ready for that bikini. WOO! OK, back to Pinterest....... damn you Pinterest.
Take care!
